Tim Page : Show Jumper

Birthday: 7th of April

Favorite Honeychop Flavor: Honeychop Plus Garlic

Biggest Achievement: 1st Senior Nations Cup for GB in Odense Denmark 2014 & 1st British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway overall winner of 2014.

The Best piece of advice Tim has been given:  Always move forwards from the last round you jumped. Whether it went well or not, you can’t be thinking about it when you go into your next class. Stay focused and think about your next round.

Tim’s Tip: Just to keep persevering. It is not always going to go to plan, you will have your bad days, but you just pick yourself up and try again.

Tim Page is a talented professional show jumper from Badwell Ash just outside of Bury St Edmunds.  He has continued to rise up the ranks and is now placed in the top 20 riders for Great Britain.

Tim was a late starter to riding and didn’t start until the age of 12, but he took to it straight away and qualified for Horse of the Year Show within the first year of learning to ride. This gave him the drive and determination to continue and through his teens he quickly progressed by representing Great Britain on a Senior Nation’s Cup team and being part of the Young Rider team.

As we said Tim was a late starter and wasn’t always that keen on horses. He used to have a little pony when he was younger, but as he didn’t want to ride it, instead he used to get on his bicycle and lead the pony around the village on his bike instead.

Tim has also represented the country at two under 21 European Championships and for the second year running he has been re-selected onto the British Equestrian Federation’s UK Sport Funded World Class Development Programme– which works with talented riders to maximise their potential and deliver success.

2015 is already going well for Tim. He started the season at the Sunshine tour in Spain and won 6 classes on Steady The Helm (owned by Justin Skinner/ Elaine Tague). He was also placed in numerous Grand Prix’s on Santa Cruise.

He won the Ride and Drive class at the Suffolk Show on Steady The Helm.

At the Royal Norfolk Show he was also successful, again winning the Ride and Drive but this time with Duc D’ Arsouilles (owned by Justin Skinner).

Then at the Keysoe International 2* Steady The Helm went on to win the 1.35m!

Tim’s top rides include:

Steady The Helm– owned by Justin Skinner and Elaine Tague is Tim’s speed horse, he can jump from 1.30m to 1.45m and is such a universal horse that one day he can jump a speed class and the next day he can jump a Grand Prix!! Always a winner, he won 6 classes in Spain this year, which is one every week.

Duc D Arsoulles- another top horse owned by Justin Skinner. He jumped the All Hickstead Jumping Derby in 2014, he’s jumped Puissance, Grand Prix’s and Speed Classes and was also the winner of  the Ride & Drive at the Royal Norfolk show this year.

Elvera – owned by Marcus Kirk and Katie Moss. Tim and Elvera clicked from day one. ‘She is a very talented mare and gives you absolutely everything’ says Tim. Their results in 2016 were impressive, at her first international show she produced a hattrick in Dunkirk 2* winning the 1.30m-1.35m class everyday! 4th and a 3rd in 1.35m 2* St Lo. 2nd accumulator Bucks county show. This year she was 2nd in her very first 1.40m.

Exclusive O’ Hesseln – owned by Marcus Kirk and Katie Moss – This is a very recent ride for Tim, Vilamoura 2017 will be Tims first show with her. She has been produced by Katie Moss who also produced Elvera. So Tim is expecting great things!

Granby – owned by Derek Meeds – Tim and Olly competed their first season together last year, they have developed a great partnership and have achieved great things including 1st in the Grade C Pembrokeshire county qualifying him for horse of the year show. He also won the ride and drive at Royal Norfolk county show. Tim will be aiming Olly at the county shows 2017.

Wild Balou Bill – owned by Brian O Malley, out of the great sire Balou Du Rouet. Tim has had numerous placing with Bill over the last 2 years, including 2nd in the national 4 year old championship at scope 2015, sunshine tour 5year old finalist, 3rd in the national 5 year old championship at scope 2016, 3rd CSI keysoe 5 year old championship. ‘He is a real prospect for the future with masses of talent’ says Tim
