Hollie: A Busy Month
This Month has been really busy we have been out every weekend at shows and Blue Chip qualifiers and the Blue Chip tickets are beginning to stack up.
Hilarius has come back into work after his break and Emma has been sold to her new owner. We have had Billy Elliot join the team for a while a super 15.2 gelding who loves jumping so I have been schooling him and taking him to his first BS show where he’s produced some great results and placings.
Pene Grimsters – Ryan’s Hollie continues to be on top form. She’s picked up another Blue Chip ticket in the Diamond class for the championships in April and we also won the 105 at BCA yesterday and had a 2nd in the Dengie Qualifier.
6yr old Delina has performed amazingly well she’s really come along way and last weekend she picked up a Blue Chip ticket in the 1.20 Karma, it looks like Blue Chips is going to be a really busy show for us! She also picked up a 1st in the 1.15 at Brook Farm and a 2nd in the 105 yesterday at BCA.
I’m off to Arena UK on Wednesday ready for The Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) it’s an Apprenticeship designed for elite athletes aged 16-19, identified by their National Governing Body as having the potential to excel in their sport. The programme is run by Corrine Bracken so I’m looking forward to a weekend of training at the highest level.
Tim’s Tips are clearly paying off as the team are producing some great results. This month we were given “The Serpentine over fences” to work on so I’ve been busy practicing it at home on my horses.
This involves setting up 4 fences and jumping them in a loop and whilst this exercise is challenging at first, once my horse figured out what I wanted it to do it became a lot easier and encouraged her to become more rhythmic and balanced. This exercise is great as it adds a little interest to my daily routine and Keeps my horse guessing and also helps to teach her to become more attentive to me as the rider.
I’ve also just booked my stables for the New Year show at Arena UK so I’m really looking forward to that and will you know how I get on in the next blog.
