Grace- Not the greatest start this month
Not the greatest start this month, Skip went lame again, so decided to get him checked out and sorted for good this time. Lame in both hinds, both stifles swolen. What a hard time for us both, Skip loves to be in work and obviously he’s on rest at the moment. He still gets to go in the field though, which is just as well otherwise he would be going mad. Poor toot. So we start a possible diagnostic in the form of steroid injections into both stifle joints, followed by two weeks rest and then I’ll bring him back into work again, provided he comes sound. Here’s hoping this sorts Skippy out and we can carry on creating wonderful memories together!
On the brighter side, I introduce Tigger, a beautiful 16.3hh dapple grey gelding (sounds familiar huh?!) Tigger is 15 years old but after doing his check ligament he was retired early, much to his disgust! Tigger is thankfully now sound and he has come into my life to be kept ticking over after finding retired life too boring! My long term plans for him are side saddle, dressage and showing, which is all super exciting. I do love a dapple grey! I collected Tigger near the end of the month, so far he has been a total DREAM in every way!! #easylife
This month, myself and a few friends have been lucky enough to try out some super new products from Honeychop. Honeychop are looking into expanding their ‘Free From’ range with 2 new products, and we were lucky enough to get the chance to test them out. The first product is going to be called Lite & Healthy and the other at the moment has no name.
I personally tried Skip on the ‘Lite a& Healthy’ chaff, which he gobbled up good and proper! Skip loved the Lite & Healthy and I am definitely going to pop him on it when it comes out. Although he also loves the calm and shine, I feel he will benefit more from the properties of the new chaff (or more so his fat belly will!) To compare this product to the plain and simple oat straw chaff, which Skip won’t eat, this product is DEFINITLEY worth its weight in gold for the good doers and overweight ponies that I live among!
So this month really has been a quiet month with nothing much exciting happening. I did however start a new job, I sadly left the riding club committee and I towed for the first time since I passed my test! (Thanks for the shot of your trailer Nicky!)
Hoping to be back on board Skip soon and have all back to normal. Until then, check out the other girls blogs – I know they have all been busy bee’s this month, much more so than me anyway!
