Our weekend of dressage with cracking results

I’ve been busy with work and making time for play is growing ever more difficult with the dark night’s well and truly here. Tigger is really at a level of fitness now where we can start working properly. We made it out to another local showing show, to finish the season, even though it feels as if we just started! We took 1st place in the side saddle class and 1st place in the ridden hunter against some seriously strong competition! I was absolutely delighted. Tigger was just hoof perfect and even gave the ride judge a fantastic ride. Tigger is coping well with the return to work and loving pampered life with me in Aberdeen, I am very grateful to his owner Sarah for the opportunity to loan and have some fun with this gorgeous boy.

This month I have been out and about flashing my Honeychop branded clothing. I took a couple of friends out to a jumping derby and to a hunter pace and to the final of our local league summer show jumping. What great fun was had and thankfully we got the best of the weather. I also borrowed a beautiful Dutch WB mare called Coco from a friend and took her to compete at ‘Saddle Up Area Championships’ where we competed in dressage and riding test. Coco is beautifully schooled and lovely to ride, so my job was made easy and we acquired great scores to finish in team 1st, individual 7th and individual 9th place. I was absolutely over the moon with my results and in particular my riding test score of 80.5! Coco modelled the Honeychop saddle pad like it was New York fashion week 😉

Tigger then got preened and plaited up once again for a weekend of dressage, we rode 2 prelim tests at the first of Findon Riding Clubs winter league and another 2 prelim tests at Stonehaven Area Riding Club winter league! As expected, Tigger was awesome, he rode beautifully with accurate transitions and a happy, relaxed attitude over both days. I love this horsey already. We came home with a top score of 69.3%, in a test where we picked up the wrong canter lead (oops!), another of 67.9% and two more mid 60% scores. I couldn’t have asked for any better! That’s the thing that I love about dressage, you can still mess it up and redeem yourself in the other movements to remain at the top of the leader board! Scoring 8’s, coming home with 4 beautiful ribbons (including a red, two blues and a yellow!) and receiving the most lovely comments, it really just topped the weekend, what a smasher.

After the sudden monsoon at the beginning of the month, Tigger has already spent a few nights in his stable. He is more than happy to come in and be snuggled up beside his friends, unlike Mr Skip who did not like coming in at all!

Soggy start to the month so far

I am still receiving continuous positive feedback and an ever growing amount of orders from friends for their bags of Honeychop. I recently placed an order for 18 bags!!!!! – and only one of them is for me! I am really pleased that people have discovered the brand and their wonderful products and are able to reap the benefits of great quality feed at great prices….. And their local sponsored rider is pretty cool too 😉

Until next month.

Grace and Tigger x
