We are back!
Happy September Honeychoppers!
How are you doing? I hope you are keeping safe and well through what can only be described as CRAZY times! I for one, am SO thankful to have been a horse owner through this pandemic, and still been able to enjoy my time with Mikey and try and forget about what has been going on.
So what has been going on with us? Well, for one, after the up’s and down’s of the last two years dealing with Mikey’s proximal suspensory, I am happy to report that we have finally made our return to the show ring. In fact, we have now done two shows since my last blog and I have loved every second of being back out again. If I am honest, last year I had pretty much made up my mind to retire Mikey from competitions as I just didn’t feel he was ever going to come right enough to compete but he has been going from strength to strength the last few months and so I decided now was the time with a little bit of help and encouragement from friends and my trainer we got back out there and did it. Mikey definitely remembered the deal, and walked through the carpark from the lorry to the warm up arena of our comeback show as if to say ‘I AM BACK’!
We have also been having lots of fun hacking over at the woods, and recently spent the weekend at the beach. Riding a horse along the beach is such an exhilarating experience and Mikey being the water baby that he is loved it, splashing around and showing my friends cob how to do it! We also headed to West Wycombe Fun Ride which was a lot of fun!
Talking of what is new, have you seen the brand new product launched by Honeychop? Topline and Shine in the latest in the range and has been specifically formulated to support your horse’s body condition without causing excitability. You can read all about here. The Team at Honeychop have worked really hard on this exciting new product and we would love to hear your feedback, if you want to give it a try, you can also request a free sample from the website too!
September is shaping up to be a good month for us, later this week Mikey and I are off to Thetford Forest for a horsey holiday hacking for a few days. Mikey will also enjoy a week off when we get back to have some downtime. For me it is important that he gets some time off as over the last few months things have been going so well and he has increased his work a little so I want to give him a bit off time off out in the field to chill. I hope to get to some more shows, but dates seem a little thin on the ground so we will have to watch this space! .
Until next month
