Hey hey! It’s been a while since I have done one of these blogs and soo much has been going on!

So last time I caught up with you all we had just gotten to the bottom of Barny’s ‘issues’! We changed bit and literally haven’t looked back, he’s like a different horse under saddle.

We attended our first ever Wimpy weekender in August. If you haven’t heard of it, they are hosted by Wimpy Eventer and they do not disappoint! We had 3 days of fantastic training, embarrassing evening entertainment and you meet so many great people! Barns and I really clicked that weekend and he was just wicked and it really set us up for our first ever 3 day event.

So at the beginning of September myself, Caleah, Laura and of course Barny headed to Moreton Russell in Dorset for their 3 day event! I had no idea what to expect really but it didn’t disappoint. We pointed our toes for a 33.3 dressage score and sat in 11th overnight. Saturday, we ran round the roads and tracks and steeplechase. That was a completely new experience and I loved it, so did Barns! We came in with no time faults and headed out onto Xcountry.

Barny ran a perfect round and he felt amazing! We came to the second to last travelling downhill and and he was running out of steam. His safety is paramount and so I didn’t push and we crossed through the flags with 1.6 time penalties.

Sunday was trot up day, we dressed to impress and I felt amazing! The vet passed us through and we were good to jump. Barns was tired, as was I. The pressure was on as we were in 9th place and it was a pole between 1st or last!

We jumped a great round having the last fence. Finishing on 38.9 and 16th place I couldn’t have been prouder of my little yellow pony! I’ve just started back at work after maternity leave so life’s a little crazy again now, but we have Munstead booked in next week and I’m buzzing!
